The HitchHiker By Jordan

The following writing is inspired by The Hitchhiker by Roald Dahl

The HitchHiker By Jordan

I was rolling along the slippery road in my Aston Martin 177. Little crystals were resting on the frozen windscreen. It was dark outside. The only light was coming from the street lamps, flickering in the cold wind.
A tiny figure standing under a light in the distance, started walking towards me. As I inched closer, I saw that the figure was a man with his thumb sticking out. I came to a halt next to him.

He had lots of shaggy blond hair, a ripped blue T-shirt, Big baggy grey track pants and a huge black blanket wrapped around his body. I also noticed that he was very tall and thin. I opened the door to let him in. As I did, a huge blast of snow and cold smothered me. I shivered. The car filled with snow. I hurried him in and then slammed the door shut. I quickly turned the heater on.

The man smelt musty. “So where are you going mate” I asked. “Venice” said the man. I tried to make a conversation with him as I started to drive on, but he was a man who obviously spoke very little.  Time went very slowly. But at last we arrived.

It was deserted. The canals were all frozen, no boats were running, no stalls open. It was like a ghost town. We drove past a little alleyway when the man told me to stop. I asked him why but once again he did not speak. Instead he grabbed his blanket opened the door and walked down the alleyway. I saw him hop in to a box and promptly fall asleep. I sneaked over and put 50 dollars next to him, just because I felt sorry for the poor man. I quickly returned to my car, so I wouldn't turn into a block of ice.

I climbed inside and drove off leaving the man to rest in his box. After a day or two I arrived at my house. I went straight to the TV as I was so tired and watched it for about five minutes before falling asleep. As I lay on my comfy couch I had a dream about that man and how he was surviving.

  1. Each paragraph has description about something else like it's assigned for that job e.g the first paragraph is describing the car and the second paragraph is describing the hitch-hiker.
