Citadel - By Jordan

I felt a river of sweat creep down my body, as the burning sun was cast over me. The moss on the cobblestone path making its way up my leg, like grape vines climbing up a wall. There was something unsettling about this place I thought. No birds sang, no people walked up and down the paths, all the doors closed. It was a spooky silence. As I dawdled up the leaf infected path, I came to the town cathedral.

The cathedral wasn't very big, but it looked amazing. There were carvings in the walls, and two giant pillars towering to the roof. A flame on a metal plate flickered in the slight breeze. I could taste the ash on the tip of my tongue.
