I trudged along the old stone path as I stomped on dried up leaves, hearing them crunch beneath my feet. The smell of stale bread filled the air while I stared over at the empty stores filled with old apples and mouldy bread. I stared hard at the food, my stomach growling. I could almost taste the sweet apple juice slivering down my throat. Dirty green vines climbed up the the old brick wall. The slight breeze blew past my face causing my hair to blow everywhere and making me stumble and trip.
I found myself face to face with a gigantic castle looming over everything. I turned around and felt a big drop of water fall onto my head, my head snapped up while another drop of water starting falling onto me from the shirts and dresses dripping from the washing line above.
Suddenly I found myself stumbling into a old abandoned cottage, I knew I probably shouldn’t be there but I was starving and the hunger had overpowered me. I stared at the peeling wallpaper with old delicate paintings on the walls, I looked ahead and found another room. I opened the door, it creaking as I closed it behind me. There I saw a big bowl of fruit, diving into the bowl and stuffing my face with the delicious apples, pears and peaches the juice slivered down my throat just as I imagined before. But I heard the door creak open. I turned around suddenly and there was an old wrinkled lady coming towards me, the wooden cane she held made a shuffling noise on the creaky wooden floorboards. She came closer and closer, I felt myself breathing heavily as she came even closer and closer. Then everything went black.
Nice writing Lily. I like the opening sentence beacuse it sets the scene very well.
