Dungeons - By Alice

I was slowly walking down a dark and musty cobblestone lane, moss growing in every nook and cranny. When I came to the end the sun was shining. I was happy, I never realised how much I could miss the sun being down the dark alley for hours and hours.

As I was walking quickly I noticed another alleyway. I went to see what was down it. I stumbled half way then I realised it was getting dark, I turned around and all I saw was a black rough wall. I told myself there is no turning back now.

I started looking desperately for dry wood, food and shelter. Instead of any of them I found a low passage way. I followed it, in the hope I might find shelter and somewhere for a fire. An hour later I was covered in sweat and dirt which made my hair stick to my forehead. I was close to giving up,because my knees and hands were cut from the sharp stones. Then I rounded a corner and a dancing, flickering light met me that gave me enough hope I started to crawl quicker. As I came to the end I looked around but could not see anything. Then I noticed a dark uninviting door or gate. The flickering light came from above the door which illuminated the cracks and made it less inviting, but I remembered it rained heavily a couple of days ago so there must be someone in the castle or what was left of it. As I got closer I saw half of the front left tower had crumbled away and was still slowly decaying. It made me shiver. When I got to the door I knocked. the big door creaked open. I peered behind the dark door, it was dark and draughty. As I cautiously walked in it started to rain so I looked for a fireplace and a bedroom. I found a nice cleanish room. I was so tired that I did not bother looking for poisonous spiders or scorpions or even fleas.

  2. Alice! I liked your story, there was lots of description. I liked how you said 'I started looking desperately for dry wood, food and shelter' Instead of I tried to find wood, food and somewhere to stay. Overall I really enjoyed reading this.
