Thud!! I hit the hard, stone ground I had a look back it was just a stupid branch so I got up, gritted my teeth and trampled on and went wherever the wind would take me.
It was a cold, winter’s morning with the sun having to peak over the horizon. The cobbled path was filled with dead grass in the cracks gasping for cold fresh air, I went around the dark, damp corner waiting what’s lurking around the corner and what would happen, Next...
I poked my head around the dusty passage (cough cough) and there it was a wonderful scenery (sigh), the birds were chirping the water was flowing and the view of the flat sea over the cliff side.
I like how you put your scenes in the start to set the scene.
ReplyDeleteI kept wondering what was going to happen next especially the bit about "something breathing on my neck". It added to the suspense that you never told us what it was. PS What was it breathing on your neck? Demon? Goblin? Or what?
