A source of light. The plants were a sickly green colour and looked like they were about to die if they didn’t sunlight. The moss was conquering the stone and was a thriving green. The pathway looked and felt weak, weak in the way of crumbly and about to break. The cracks in the stone were deepening by the second. And the stone was a dull, boring grey. Just an ordinary grey with nothing special about it. Ants were crawling in and out, of the cracks, never resting and never stopping. Endless, tiring work all day long. I watched intriguely, wondering how they can do that.
I could smell a faint ashy smell. From last night's fire. With every trembling step I took, the smell got stronger and stronger.I shriveled up my nose in disgust. Slowly, the smell of bread came to mind. It was hot, felt fresh out of the oven. The air was crisp and cold, giving me a wake up call.
The wall which I was calmly leaning on for support.Felt cold and damp.It looked like an old woman in a sort of weird way. The cracks were her wrinkles,as deep as the ocean, and some parts of the wall had worn away, making the facial features.
I could hear the work of the slaves in the castle, the chit chat of the townsfolk. The townsfolk sounded and looked excited. They sounded like a hive of bees waiting to go outside and collect pollen from the flowers. I used my rusty old cane to hobble around in this fine weather. The townsfolk greeted me with great love, kindness and affection that warmed my heart up. Plus there was a big town event in which everyone was willing to go and see. Hundreds of people were lining up in crazy costumes and clothing. I could now hear a choir of people talking about the event. Their excitement spread across like a disease. I was now wearing a grin from ear to ear.
I really like how you gave a wall a human like appearance, 'It looked like an old woman in a sort of weird way. The cracks were her wrinkles,as deep as the ocean, and some parts of the wall had worn away, making the facial features.' I also like all of the adjectives you have used. E.g sickly green colour
ReplyDeleteYou have cleverly chosen words like instead of the moss was on the ground you used the moss was conquering the ground.
